We use the most robust method recommended by EIGE, whatever the size of your company. The only difference is how light the process is for you.
The AI module and the human consultant are optional on all plans from Basic up — separate cost, communicated clearly before activation.
All plans have identical access to the full evaluation. The difference between them is strictly the legal reporting threshold — not reduced functionality.
A fair question
Why do I pay if I have no reporting obligation?
Because you're paying for the evaluation engine, not for reporting. Under 100 employees you have no obligation to report to ANES, under the bill (Art. 9) — but you still need a proper job evaluation, accessible pay-setting criteria for employees (Art. 6), and a real response to their individual requests (Art. 7), regardless of your headcount. Basic gives you the full EIGE evaluation, the legal indicators, and a remediation plan — preparing early, not complying with an obligation that doesn't exist yet at this size.
How are employees counted for the size band?
Directive (EU) 2023/970 sets the reporting thresholds (100+, 150+, 250+) but doesn't specify the exact methodology for counting employees — that's left to national transposition law. Romania hasn't adopted the law yet (bill L445/2026, in progress in the Senate). Until then, PayWise uses the number of active employees imported from payroll as a reasonable approximation. Once Romanian law sets the exact methodology, we update the calculation automatically for all clients, no action needed on your part.
Why does PayWise cost what it costs?
The price reflects the depth of the methodology, not just a gap calculation — from €83/month (€990/year) at Basic, up to €333/month (€3,990/year) at Scale, plus Enterprise from €4,990/year (250 employees) + €3.00/employee/year above that; VAT (21%) is added to all prices. PayWise builds an objective job evaluation across 4 criteria and 14 sub-criteria (the EIGE methodology), explicitly required by Art. 4 of the directive — it doesn't group employees by existing payroll job titles, which can themselves carry historical gender bias. The annual subscription includes full evaluation at every plan.
